Midnight Shelter
BIOGRAPHY
Recognized for his singular voice, Sachal's tone and unique phrasing mark him as one of today's most compelling voices. His latest recording, Midnight Shelter, is a collaboration with French / New York-based pianist Romain Collin that was released April 23, 2021, on Edition Records. The eagerly awaited project intimately reworks well-known music by Bob Dylan, Nick Drake, Lennon/McCartney, and other outstanding songwriters, alongside "spellbinding sensitive originals that are uniquely expressed."
Sachal has five prior albums: Sachal Train (GSI 2018); Slow Motion Miracles produced by Steely Dan's Michael Leonhart (Sony/Okeh 2015); HI-FLY (Mack Avenue 2011); We Move (Mack Avenue 2009); Eyes Wide Open (Mack Avenue 2007). His 2018 release, Shadow Train, received numerous favorable reviews and has been embraced on digital media. HI-FLY (2011) reached #1 on the iTunes Jazz charts and was produced by John Clayton; it features vocal legend Jon Hendricks.
Sachal's singing and writing are well documented on other artists' projects, including Gerald Clayton's Grammy Nominated Life Forum. His original lyrics and music can be found on all the records under his name
