Hey all,
in advance of my new record i thought id put up this track (on my mySpace page http://www.myspace.com/sachalvasandani ) i did as an homage to one of my heroes, piano legend Phineas Newborn. it's a track of his called Sugar Ray . probably my favorite version of his is with Roy Haynes & Paul Chambers on a one-of -a-kind alnum called we three.

I recorded it with Jeb Patton when we were doing tracks for my new record, WE MOVE, which is coming out on September 15. One of the reasons I respect Jeb's playing so much is because of the way he channels Phineas: crisp, light, fast, creative and full of humor.
that is a lot of adjectives.

Unfortunately, it's not going to be on the new record, but who knows, it may be a b side type thingy or extra somewhere.
in the meantime i thought id share it anyway here on myspace, now that you can put up a lot more tracks than before. its kind of a different side of my singing , i hope you like it.
