here is some of Tony Hoagland's poetry- the church has selected some excellent poems from his collection. I'll be singing some (i hope) appropriate standards & originals after each song is read. with Ned Goold, Mike Rodriguez, Ted Rosenthal, Ben Wolfe.. all excellent musicians whom i'm excited to play with. http://www.allsoulsnyc.org/worship/sundown.htm
Perhaps someday soon i'll be able to set some of his work to music like I've done with Auden and some others. Hoagland's poetry seems accessible like my favorite writers and yet each read uncovers another,deeper layer .. till i'm able to discover something as essential in his writing as any of the greats.
